June 12th-Present...I know, I'm behind!

I fell way, way, way behind with my posts since Carlos has been home. Of course we have enjoyed him being home and have been busy, but we also came down with an awful bout of food poisoning which began Sunday night and ended Monday night! Ugh!

Friday: Carlos came home!!!! I was so nervous all day, I literally thought that I was going to faint. Finding out that he was on a C130, which does not even have seats, completely freaked me out! He had texted me saying that they were leaving at about 2:15, and turned off his phone. Me and Addison played with her toys as we waited...
I anticipated the plane arriving at about 4:30 at the latest, so when 4:45 rolled around, I was having a complete anxiety attack...luckily, he called about 5 minutes later. We were ready to walk out the door whenever he called, so we rushed off to get him. Of course, driving on base is like walking, so by the time we got there, he was waiting in the parking lot. Luckily we spotted his bright orange Broncos backpack. Addison was so excited to see him and smiled so big when she did! We went home, he changed clothes, and of course we went to eat, since he was starved!!! This picture is Addison sitting with Carlos at dinner...obviously excited!Sunday-Monday: Sunday started out as an errand day...I made breakfast, we took the truck to get it washed, and went to the commisary to get groceries, since I had never been there before. Carlos was not feeling too great about halfway through the day, and Addison was acting tired, so I put her in her crib. She never naps in her crib, but I thought today might be the day...I WAS WRONG!!! She started out laying in her crib horizontally. Her head was at the end of the crib, probably the way that most babies lay in a crib. I went to check on her, and she had completely scooted her way out of her sleep positioner, and was chewing on the tag (I wish I had a picture of this!!!). I checked on her again, and she had turned 90 degrees, so she was now vertical in her crib.

I let her stay that way, and when I went to check on her, found her like this...
She obviously had her eye on her stuffed animals...Yes she looks like she might crawl to them, but she is a bit too lazy for that, so she somehow squirmed her way over to them, and the last time I checked on her, I found this...

Needless to say, she didn't take a nap! During this time, Carlos's food poisoning kicked in, so Addison and I played and had fun while he was miserable...Well, it wasn't long, about 5 hours, until my food poisoning kicked in. Luckily by this time, he was feeling much better, because it hit me 100x worse. I kept telling him that I would rather be having labor pains and an epidural than to feel as bad as I did. It lasted about 12 hours!!! I was lucky that Carlos had two days off, so he was able to do everything with Addison since I could not even move.

Tuesday: The food poisoning was gone (although Carlos was starting to feel a little queasy again) and we had to get out of the apartment. We decided to go to the Las Americas Outlets which are in San Ysidro. If you haven't been there, they are off of the last exit before the Mexico border. The last time I was there was with my friend Armida, and we did not see border patrol riding around on ATV's, nor did we drive around the back of the outlets for me to see that the fence is literally right there, and border patrol were within walking distance...crazy!!!

Yes the curb in front of that brown fence does belong to the parking lot...of course I was making jokes the whole time, but it truly was a really weird experience for me to see the actual border. And when we got back onto the freeway we had to drive right next to the entrance to Mexico...I told Carlos to keep an eye on the baby so she didn't get kidnapped...lol! Just kidding!
