This past weekend the only thing that we had planned to do was go to the Sycuan Pow Wow, so it was a great surprise when Carlos's friend Hooter (yes, it's a nickname) called and said that he was back from deployment and wanted to come down to San Diego to visit. Carlos has known him for about 7 years, and he was one of the first people that he had met when he got to his first duty station in the Navy. Because he has been on deployment a lot, and is stationed up north in Leemore (not sure if I spelled it right), he has not seen him in quite a while! Unfortunately, it will be quite a while before we see him again, since he is going to Japan for about 2 years. That is sad because Addison was absolutely IN LOVE with him!!! I have never seen her react that way to someone!
Once he got to our apartment, we were all starving, so we headed to the Pow Wow. It was so much fun! I have been to them before, and even though they tend to be the same, there is always something new and interesting at every one. Neither Carlos or Hooter had been to a Pow Wow before, and even though it was about 110 degrees, everyone had a great time. We filled up on food, banana smoothies, and Addison drank a lot of water. I even found her the cutest beaded barrettes.
Addison, braving the heat!

The cutest little boy ever!

Later that night, we went to Casa Guadalajara, as if we would take anyone to any other Mexican restaurant.

Since Hooter was leaving for New York today, he headed home Sunday after breakfast. We went to Busters Beach House in Seaport Village, and after he left, we walked around the ArtWalk Fair and shops. To sum up the weekend, we came home to watch football, football, and more football!
