I have to admit that 2010 has been OUR year...and I am just waiting for something to go wrong, since everything has been SO right! I will try to be optimistic, but I can't imagine continuing to have such good luck! When Carlos officially decided to get out of the Navy, we were so excited, knowing that we wouldn't have to spend any more time without him, but at the same time fearful that he might not find a job. On average, it is taking people about 6 months to find a job right now! He was lucky enough to land a job within two weeks of getting out of the Navy, and is lucky to work with the same people he was working with before, in the same shop, on the base. We found out that he is considered 'disabled' by the Veteran's Administration, because of several service-related injuries, which doesn't sound like a blessing, but it is. He will be going back to school in a few weeks, and will hopefully be in the Navy Reserves by the end of the month. This will be great so we can get Tricare insurance again! I guess I should be happy that we have insurance through his work, since a lot of people go without insurance, but Tricare insurance is so much better than Blue Cross!
We have officially paid off all credit cards! I didn't have credit card debt since I paid them off at the end of each month, but unfortunately, Carlos had a lot of debt from going back to Colorado often, and helping out others even when he probably didn't have the money to. Hence, the credit card debt! What a great feeling that is, to know that you don't owe money to credit card companies!
My accident that I got in when I was 6 months pregnant is finally being settled, and that makes me extremely happy. Not only am I happy that it is finally over but the settlement is more than I would have ever expected! God has definitely watched over me and made sure I got what I deserved, after almost 22 months of hassle!
I guess the negative to this year is that Addison is starting to go through the Terrible-two's at 18 months old! Everyone says that this is good since it might get them out of her system early, but I have been used to her being such a good girl for so long now! A lot of little boys I know have been behaving this way since at least a year old, but like I said, Addison has always been such a well-behaved little girl. She is not biting or hitting, but is definitely more whiney than normal, and is testing us i.e. putting her foot on her dinner plate, and things like that! Like my friend Sabrina said (in reference to her son, and I'd definitely agree), "It's hard to be p.o'd when you look at that adorable face!" I am thankful that I am able to stay home with her, and hopefully her behavior will change. For now, I will just 'deal' with her behaviors, and laugh when she isn't looking, since most of the time it is pretty funny!
