After almost exactly 2 years with not one fever, cough, sniffle, or anything else that babies have, it appears that Addison has the chicken pox. She probably got them from one of those kids at the carnival on Saturday night. I noticed two bumps on her leg yesterday, and now she has one by her boob and about 10 under her chin. I called the nurse since of course it is 11 p.m., and after asking me a million questions, she determined that it is the chicken pox. And yes, she just had the vaccine November 18, 2009, so yes, you can still get them!!!
I am trying to stay positive, even though this means that we are out of commission until November 8th!!! Positives: She is not itchy at all, doesn't have a fever, and seems to be in good spirits. If this is the only time she gets them, at least she won't miss out on school because of them! Negatives: We might miss soccer next Monday, and will be stuck in the house for the next 6 days.
It's so funny because I didn't anticipate this until much later...I had them in 4th grade and Carlos had them in 5th grade. Again, I hope this is the only time she gets them so she doesn't miss out on school later on.
