What a mess!

On Monday night, I woke up around 1:30 and heard water running from what sounded like upstairs. It continued to run, and about 2 hours later I called the police to go check on my neighbor. He was fine. How embarassing though! Well, the next morning the water was still running. I walked out of our bedroom to find a really really humid and hot apartment. I called the manager to tell them the water was still running. About 10 minutes later I walked into Addison's room and the floor was gushing with water. Hot water! Thank God she was sleeping in our room, or she may have suffocated. That's how bad the water and humidity were. Of course, it was a hot water pipe that had leaked and cracked the slab underneath her carpet. Thankfully, the maintenance people came in and moved everything out of her room, into our living room. Nice. Her crib was still in her room since it can't be slid through her door. That is probably ruined. They tore up her carpet, a plumber came in and jackhammered the floor, and then we found out that they are going to have to go into her wall and drop the pipe in so it goes to the kitchen. I guess this is one time where I am extremely thankful that we are in an apartment so that they have to cover the expenses. I filed a claim on all of her furniture since water damage doesn't show up right away. Now, her room has 2 huge holes in the floor, and we are waiting for the plumber to come back (maybe today, but maybe not) and start tearing apart the wall.

I wasn't able to take a shower until last night since we had no hot water and no water pressure. As Addison would say, "Ewwwww".  We now have hot water but since everything is everywhere, we are down to one bedroom, one bathroom, a kitchen, dining room, and half of a living room.
