Today is Day 4 of potty training. Well technically it's day 3.5 since I started halfway through Tuesday. I realized one thing...once I set my mind to it and did not give in to Addison's crying, potty training has been a cinch. I could have done this so much sooner, but her crying while sitting on the potty was so devastating, especially since she doesn't really cry! But, she knew that was her way of controlling the situation.
Since Tuesday, she has had no accidents! I am so proud of her. I had hoped that accidents would get her to go on the potty in the first place, but she has done it all on her own...accident-free! And she is definitely getting better. I know she still doesn't really want to go on the potty, so she won't say she has to go. She will say, "take off my underwear", or make a whiney noise. This morning we were picking out underwear and she threw them all back in her drawer and said, "I need a diap!" We went straight to the potty and she was so excited. Her reaction is always, "Pee!!!! Let's dump it!" She loves the whole process. Dumping it, flushing the toilet, washing hands, getting stamps on her chart, etc.
I am kicking myself for not torturing her sooner and getting her potty trained because by now, she would probably be going #2 in the potty. I've heard that is a much longer process!!!!
Tomorrow she will be going in the car for the 1st time without a diaper (up to my parents house which is kind of a long time to be in the car without a diaper). I have vowed to keep her inside to get her fully used to wearing underwear, and I didn't want to put Pull Ups on her because I am afraid she will go back to wanting diapers. I don't think so, but I am taking every precaution!
