So lucky!

People always wonder when the "right" time to have a baby is. Whether you base it on your first child's age, or what is going on in your life, it is often hard to "plan" the right time, because there is always something that comes up. I always say that you can't plan your life, and it drives me nuts when people try to, because they always seem disappointed. As far as planning the age difference between Addison and her sister, which we had always joked about wanting them 3 1/2 years apart, it seemed to work out perfect. The cutoff for them being 3 1/2 years apart passed, but the more we thought about it, the more it seemed like the perfect time. We were so lucky/blessed to be able to get pregnant right away. It doesn't always happen that way, but it did for us. Of course if it hadn't, it wouldn't have ruined any plans. Once you have kids it seems much easier to go with the flow.

Addison has seriously been soooo great throughout the pregnancy. Of course there have been times when she has driven me nuts, but it wasn't because of anything other than her being a 3 year old. When I was sick, she would think it was funny to come into the bathroom and watch me. It made the situation so much better when she was laughing about it. I'm not even being sarcastic. I am not a napper, but I have been exhausted, and she has (for the most part) allowed me to take cat naps here and there. I always know that she will not be tearing up the house or causing chaos if I sleep for 30 minutes. She has such a variety of toys, puzzles, books, etc to play with, she is never bored. It has been such a relief to be able to take her to EVERY one of my doctors appointments. I know many people who can't take their kids to any appointments because they can't/won't sit still, but Addison LOVES going to the doctor with me. It's funny when he uses the doppler, she always plugs her ears! She is in love with Doc McStuffins on Disney Junior, so she pretends that she is a doctor at least once a day. She likes to "fix" my legs and my back. She even diagnosed a freckle on my leg as "pimpleitis", and drew a picture of it on her Magna Doodle. My favorite is when she fixes my legs with lotion!

I seriously could not have asked for a better child throughout this pregnancy. The pregnancy itself has definitely been completely different than when I was pregnant with her. She didn't cause any of the yucky pregnancy symptoms that this baby has. Lol! I just can't imagine how much worse it could have been, if I didn't have Dr. Addison by my side.

So funny...Cailyn loves Doc McStuffins too and the other day she diagnosed me with some sort of "itis".:) Hope that the baby doesn't make you wait too much longer! The end is rough.

I hope not either. I think because the doctor kept telling me to expect her in June, I was expecting her much sooner. Thursday will be 40 weeks. Eek!
