On Saturday we went to the Pechanga PowWow. If there is one thing I love, it's a PowWow. Between the awesome beaded clips that I insist on buying for Addison, to the frybread, to the dancing and drums, it is so much fun. Unfortunately, PowWow season is during the Spring/Summer, so it is almost always HOT! I wasn't sure how I would do, being a million weeks pregnant, but I couldn't pass it up. So, we went for about two hours, walking most of the time, and I survived!
Watching the Fancy Shawl Competition! She DID NOT want to leave!
On Sunday, my parents were coming down, and I knew that I wanted to head to South Coast Winery to pick up some Zindependence wine. No, I do not drink wine, pregnant or not, but I LOVE the bottle. The label is vintage Americana and is so cool, so I knew that I needed to get some. We went to the get the wine, and found the cutest onesie and matching socks for the baby while we were there. I thought it would be a cute "coming home" outfit, but once I compared it to her newborn onesies and outfits, it may have to wait. But, I did pack it with about 7 other outfits in the diaper bag. After the winery, we headed to Walmart. I really hate Walmart, but ours is so big, and has everything that you need, including REALLY good fruit, so we went grocery shopping. I think when I went there about three weeks ago, and even while at Costco two weeks ago, I told myself that would be my last trip to the grocery store...I was wrong. I was really afraid that I wouldn't make it through the entire store, but I did. Shocking, I know.
Addison was going to go to my parents house on Sunday and Monday night, and then come back here Tuesday so that they could go to my doctors appointment with me. My doctor is still out of town, but maybe the nurse practitioner will have some good news for me. Wishful thinking??? You can tell by Addison's cheesy face that she was super-excited to go. She couldn't wait to go swimming. When she was getting in the car, she said, "Okay mama, I'm getting ready to leave now." Awwww. I'm surprised I didn't cry.
Everyone joked that I should sleep while she was gone, but I knew that WOULD NOT happen. I just don't sleep a lot. BUT, last night I didn't sleep because I had this INSANE energy surge! Don't they say that happens before labor??? I was wide awake until midnight putting away all of my bow things into the cabinet and drawers where they belong. Of course, I had to make a few more headbands before I put everything completely away, hence, why it was still out to begin with. Then I decided to go through all of my clothes that I had just discovered had spots on them from food. Seriously, it's karma. I used to laugh when I would seen pregnant women with stains on their clothes. Granted, I would NEVER wear a shirt out with a stain on it, but that meant getting out the good old dish soap, "treating" all of my shirts that had just been washed, and rewashing them. And then of course, I had to watch KUWTK and RHONJ. I was asleep around midnight, and wide awake again at 3:30 a.m. I mean wide awake, foot-twitching, antsy, awake! I managed to go back to sleep at 6:30, only to wake up again at 8. By that time, I gave up.
I should have spent the entire day sleeping, but I had offered to help Carlos with one of his papers that is due tomorrow. If anyone has ever taken a 5 week summer course, you know it is torture, and papers that you normally have weeks to work on, are due within a week. So, I finally decided to be nice and help. =) That also means that I am still wide awake, and not about to take a nap any time today. We'll see if I'm exhausted by the time my mom and Addison get here at 9:30 a.m. I'm sure my mom will be.
