Yesterday was Miranda's two month checkup. I was looking forward to it all week. Unfortunately, I woke up with a horrible headache. I literally felt like I was going to throw up, which I did, and my whole body was hurting. I never get headaches, so there was no way I was going to put the kids in the car and drive to the doctor. At the same time, I didn't want her to get behind in her shots. So, Carlos took one of his vacation days and came home to take her. I was so upset. For one, I am not one of those moms who constantly pawns my kids off on my husband so I can do my own thing. Trust me, we know some of those. He does the cooking, cleaning, laundry, and the kids homework. To me, that's not being a mom. I like to spend my children's free time with them. I figure I spent 3 1/2 years of one-on-one time with Addison, and since Miranda won't get the same, I need to spend all of the time I can with her. Luckily, I have that time when Addison is at preschool. So, 10 hours a week as opposed to 3 1/2 years doesn't even compare, but at least it's something.
I have never NOT gone to anyones appointment. Carlos had gone to a few of Addison's appointments when she was a baby, but I have always taken her, and now Miranda. It was devastating knowing that I wouldn't be there with her. Luckily, I had just taken her to the doctor for her cold on Wednesday, so I asked most of my questions then anyway. And, since I always try to look at the bright side (yes there is ALWAYS a bright side and I can tell you what it is during every crazy situation I've ever been in), at least if I die, Carlos will know where to take them to the doctor. Lol!
Miranda weighs 13 lbs 8 oz and is 23" long! I had been worried that she wasn't lifting her head completely up like my friend Lindsey's baby Tre does, but then I found out that her head is in the high 90th percentile, and his is in the 50th percentile. Again, another reason why you can't compare babies. The doctor told Carlos that with her head size, we are lucky she can even hold it up. Lol! Poor Panda! At least she has a lot of room for brain growth. That was always my joke with Addison!
She got her shots, and unlike Addison, she actually did have pain from them during the day. Addison used to just sleep all day, and never had pain or a fever. Thankfully Miranda didn't have a fever, but I was worried because she seemed to be hurting. Luckily it was gone by last night, and she went back to being a great sleeper. {We're currently waiting for her to wake up and eat so we can go to the store. She's been sleeping great all morning}.
She is ALWAYS so happy and vocal!
She found her feet although she hasn't grabbed them yet!
