I can't believe we have a 5 year old. No longer a toddler! Yikes. I think it is hitting Carlos a lot harder than it hit me. He mentions it every single day. Addison had such a great birthday. We went to Disneyland on her birthday like we do every year. It was PACKED. I think the last time I saw it that crowded was when I went one year on NYE. Surprisingly, we were able to go on most of the rides that we wanted to go on. We didn't go on the Haunted Mansion because they aren't doing fast passes, and no one was about to stand in that line. They are filming "The View" in front of the castle, so I was kind of bummed to see that we couldn't take their picture. One of the cast members talked to a few others, and they said that they wanted Addison to have a "magical 5th birthday photo" in front of the castle, and escorted us behind the ropes to take her picture. It was pretty cool because there was set equipment everywhere. Very behind-the-scenes. We ate lunch at Cafe Orleans because we were all dying for a good Monte Cristo. Later in the day we saw Barbara Walters taking a tour of Disneyland. We were literally right next to her. She looked awful. I was so happy that Addison actually stayed awake for the fireworks this year. After 13 hours there, she fell asleep, and our plans to have her pick out some presents at Disneyland didn't happen.
On her actual birthday she opened a few of her presents, and then we went to Toys R' Us so she could pick out some other things she had been wanting. I think her Rainbow Loom was her favorite. By the end of the day, she was so exhausted that she didn't even want a cake, or to go to dinner. So, she chose McDonalds (lol) and we headed home to put together 28 goody bags for the kids in her class.
On Monday, she was so excited to get her birthday crown, certificate and pencil from her teacher. She loved passing out the goody bags. She has always been one of those kids who just loves to give things to her friends! Since she didn't want a cake on her birthday, I got her a cake and balloons on Monday. She didn't eat one bite of it, but she did blow out the candle. She was happy with that!

Halloween, Parties, and Student of the Week!
The past couple of weeks have been insanely busy. Between everyone being sick, to tons of parties and school events, we have been going going going! Miranda didn't go trick-or-treating because I didn't want her to get even worse than she was. For non-bf kids, they have pretty darn good immune systems. They had said that the azithromycin wasn't helping her because her pneumonia was viral, but she kicked it's butt in no time! Her and Addison are pretty much cough free. That's crazy, especially since I was told it could last up to two to four weeks after they were "better". Here are a few pictures from Halloween...
Addison has also had two parties at Pump It Up in two weeks. She may have withdrawals this weekend. I however, will not miss it!
Since her class is full of kids with Oct/Nov birthdays, they had a huge class birthday party! It was so much fun for the kids. They had tons of food and cupcakes. They were so excited when they came in and the room was decorated! They also had a baby shower for her teacher who is due on the 18th. She is planning on working until the 15th. After seeing her this morning, I'll be shocked if she makes it in on Tuesday.
When I picked Addison up yesterday, her teacher asked if we could come to the Friday flag salute since Addison would be getting student of the week. The late birds never go to the Friday flag salute so she had no idea why we were going. I told her that I had to take pictures for her teacher. She was sooooo excited! I am so proud of her. She is at the top of her class, and has never had a bad day in school. She loves it so much! Hello, how could she not? =)

Sick girl #2
Addison was really sick last week. She missed three days of school and has been using her inhaler for a week. I had thought that Miranda avoided it, until Saturday when she got a fever and a horrible cough. I took Addison to a party at Pump It Up, and Carlos said that she was fine while we were gone. By about midnight, she was coughing so bad that she was coughing up phlegm and had trouble breathing. Off we went to the ER. We were there for 3.5 hours during which they gave her some kind of steroid shot, a swab for RSV, chest x-rays, and a really high strength shot. It ended up that she has pneumonia. They gave her azithromycin which was to help prevent it from getting worse. Sunday I woke up and felt terrible. I ended up getting a fever for the first time in forever. That turned into horrible sinus infection. Today I got the strangest pain in my kidney area, so I went in tithe doctor. Luckily my mom was able to come down so I didn't have to take Miranda. I have to go again on Friday after Addison's classroom birthday party. They did give me some really good medicine for my sinus infection which should take it away soon. Hallelujah! With Carlos in school late on Tuesday through Thursday, it will definitely be good to get better soon. Addison still has her awful cough as well. she will be the only one trick-or-treating, and only for a short time. I don't want her to miss the big classroom birthday party on Friday. We have 6 lbs of candy waiting for the trick-or-treaters!

Fall Fun!
On Saturday we went to one of our favorite places to go before Halloween...Peltzer Farms. It super-close and is up by the wineries, so it's a great little outing with a ton of fun things for the kids to do. Our neighbors were also going, so we met them there. Miranda decided that even though she's been on ponies before, she was scared to death of them and cried once on them. I have a feeling that Disneyland this year will be really interesting. All of the things that she was once okay with (ponies, characters, my grandparents...lol), she is now afraid of!
