Addison's 9-month checkup!
Today I took Addison for her 9-month checkup. While I hate taking her to get shots, I love seeing how long she is and how much she weighs. I was surprised that she weighed 21lbs 14oz, since she had been gaining 3lbs a month. She was not quite as big as I expected her to be. Her length was 28 inches, which was only 3/4 inches since her last checkup at 6-months. The doctor told me that genetics are finally coming into play, and her height will start to slow down, since neither myself or Carlos are tall! I can't remember the exact measurement of her head, but know that it was in the 95th percentile...no head growth worries here...her brain is clearly growing! I don't think we needed measurements to tell us that though. We are currently awaiting her top two teeth, which the doctor said are on their way out. This would explain her first bout of diarrhea and diaper rash. I guess it is good that it has taken 9 months for this to happen! Since she is still waking up in the night (ugh) the doctor told me to put her on Gerber Puffs for snacks, and to start giving her actual pieces of fruit, small pieces of bread or bagels, and yogurt. Developmentally, she is right on track. She got 3 shots and a hemoglobin test, which came back right on track. And of course, her doctor and the nurses in the office absolutely love her...I heard them talking about her in the hallway! Lol!
