Addison had her 15-month checkup on Wednesday, and I was amazed to see how TALL she is getting. She had always been in the 95th percentile for height until her 1-year checkup when she dropped down to 55th percentile. We were always surprised that she was so tall, and finally thought genetics were kicking in at her last appointment. When I took her this time she weighed 24 lbs 10 oz (only 6 oz more than her last appointment). That was so shocking because I had gotten used to her gaining 2-3 lbs every appointment. When the nurse measured her she was 31 inches tall! Her last appointment she was only 29 3/4 inches, so she had grown quite a bit. This also means that she has gotten pretty skinny since she grew in height and not much in weight. Ahhh, her chubby legs are dissappearing before our eyes!
The doctor is always amazed at how mellow she is. She absolutely rants and raves about how she loves Addison. She said that while most babies would be hitting her, screaming, or trying to climb up the wall, Addison sits and quietly plays with her hammer, tongue depresser, and stethoscope. She said that we are very lucky and she will be an amazing big sister some day. She said she would not worry about her one bit. Although I thought she was behind on her words, she said that she is right on target, and it's really good that she understands absolutely everything you tell her. Overall, it was a great appointment. It's so good to hear how good Addison is...we are doing something right!
