I had decided that when we got home from Palm Springs on Monday, I would start potty training on Tuesday. Addison is 18 months old, and my mom said that both my brother and I were potty trained at 18 months. I am not in the biggest hurry, not like a lot of people that potty train so they don't have to change 2 sets of diapers. Definitely NOT the case here. I just figure that if I start now, if she decides she doesn't like it, we will try again later. I had read a ton of reviews about potties. There are so many cute ones and I fell in love with one that looked fit for a princess. I read the reviews and many parents said their children were scared away by the music which comes out on the back rest. I knew that Addison would either love or hate her potty, and figured that the music might make her hate it. We ended up buying the most boring white potty ever. It is the Baby Bjorn Smart Potty (B r' Us was out of pink...we got white), and literally looks like a white bowl. It had the BEST reviews, and was only $19. Lucky me...it was on sale for $16 and I had a $5 off coupon, so it ended up being $11. This was great because if she hated it, it's not like we spent a fortune on an expensive potty.

So, I figured we would play with it for today and try potty training on Tuesday. I sat her down on it one time and she just sat there laughing. I sat her down about an hour later and she actually went peepee...about the size of a quarter. Yes, we were thrilled by that small amount!!! When Carlos got home, we showed it to him and she sat down on it. He was so excited because she peed (about the size of a quarter) again. She started to stand up, and immediately sat back down. That time, she actually went and filled up the bowl! Yay!!!!!!!!!! I am not taking it to Palm Springs so we will pick up with the potty on Tuesday, but for now, I am super excited that she actually likes it! In fact, we had to pull her off of it because she DID NOT want to get off of it. We literally pulled her off crying!
On a side note...I have been irritated by our Mia Moda stroller for about a month or two now. I loved it at first, but it will not stay clean (it's bright pink) and is getting harder to push. While we were at B r' Us I saw a Joovy Kooper stroller that looked so cute. It has the European look, but is considered an umbrella stroller. It was so nice to push around, and the canopy is TO DIE FOR!!! I read a ton of reviews, and most people say that they had the MacLaren umbrella stroller and the Quinny Zapp, and this is much better. Some even returned the MacLaren for this one. It retails for $220, is on sale at B r' Us for $180 (in lime green), and I found it on Amazon for $150.
They have it in Lime, Yellow (both would get way too dirty), Red (ugly), Black (too hot), and Brown (LoVe). So, guess what I'm getting next week??? Yay! It'll be awesome for the zoo...since the Graco annoyed me last time we were there!
