MUST-HAVE IF YOU HAVE KIDS!!!

Call me paranoid, but once we moved Addison out of her infant seat, I kept thinking about how hard it would be to get her out of the car if we were ever in an auto accident, rollover, or fire. I know that is awful to think about, but the infant seat could be removed so easily, and once we put her in her convertible carseat, all I could think of was how safe she was in the center of the backseat, but how hard it'd be to get her out in an emergency. I kept telling Carlos we needed to get those escape hammers.
Well, tonight we were watching T.V. and there was a story about a little boy who was in his moms SUV when it got into an accident. It rolled onto it's side and caught fire. The mom was able to get her daughter out, but her son was trapped in his carseat while the car was burning away. Many people came to the rescue, but it wasn't until someone brought out a knife that he was able to be freed. He now has to wear a suit to keep his 4th degree burns from scarring. He no longer has ears, although he can still hear, and will be in his burn suit until he stops growing. It was so sad, but it could have been prevented.

I immediately got on the computer and found the Lifehammer. It is normally around $15+, but I found a coupon code (WRS125 ) for 20% off at containerstore.com until 5/31. Because we have a Container Store locally, we can pick it up and save on shipping, making them only $11.99. Needless to say, I ordered them for both cars and we will be putting them in tomorrow! And for all of you Dr. Oz lovers, he recommends that everyone get them in their cars!

That is a great idea. I hate the thought of a kid being stuck inside an upside down car. Thanks for the suggestion!
