Birch Aquarium

This weekend was the only weekend in September that we didn't/don't have some event to attend. Since Carlos had to go to the Birch Aquarium for his Bio class, we decided that it would be a great time to go. I was hoping it would be better than the Aquarium of the Pacific, but it definitely WAS NOT! It was okay, but the LB Aquarium has sea lions, more hands-on tanks, and a walk-through shark tank. This aquarium had some tanks, a few hands-on things, but that's about it.

The weather was beautiful at home, but driving into La Jolla it was gross. Another reason I could not live at the beach. The marine-layer was horrible, and it felt really muggy. This meant that most of our pictures didn't turn out well, and it went from being cold to humid and sticky icky. I think Addison had more fun playing on the stairs with a little girl that she met, than she did looking at the fish. I would push her up to a tank and she would say no. It wasn't until we got to the sharks that she wanted to touch the glass on the tank everytime they went by! We did get a "Good Night Ocean" book in the bookstore to add to her collection. If you haven't seen the "Good Night Our World" series of books, they are so cute, and are a great souvenier! http://www.goodnightourworld.com/
