Love to enjoy the small things...

It's funny how people can be jealous or insecure about the littlest things. I don't understand it. I thought those feelings went away after people got out of school, graduated from college, etc. You grow up, accomplish things, have a family, etc. Of course, everything means something different from one person to the next, but it's about finding what makes you happy, and going with that. What makes me happy is having the best husband ever, and getting to go through life seeing Addison grow, do funny things, say the most clever things ever, and be so smart and loving. Those are the things that make me happy. Material things are nice, but really, I don't think they give people true joy. That is obvious, because the people with the most 'things' are usually the most miserable and lonely. It just doesn't make sense to me though, especially when there is so much in life to be thankful for! I literally get to spend every day of my life being happy because of this!

On Saturday we were going to go on the riverboat in Mission Bay. We were celebrating Carlos' school semester being O-V-E-R! We went to dinner at Island's, and by the time we came out, the weather had changed drastically, and it was insanely windy and much cooler than it had been. Two things that don't go well together, wind and boats, so we decided we will save our tickets for a later date. We ended up going shopping instead.

On Sunday we decided that we were going to go to the zoo. It had been a little bit since we had last gone, and of course I was dying to see the baby hippo, since now it would be in the water instead of just sleeping outside. We walked down to the hippo, which of course is the first thing we go for since Addison LOVES hippos, and as we walked to the tank, we saw the mama pushing the baby right up to the glass. It was the CUTEST thing I have ever seen. It came around 2 more times but I didn't have the camera ready, so we walked around and came back to it before we left. We got to see it up-close once again. I just loved how the mama would push the baby around with her entire face. He would kind of 'bounce' all over the place as he floated through the water. This was one of the highlights of our many zoo trips.

After the zoo we headed over to Clayton's Coffee in Coronado. It is the cutest cafe and there is a great little walk-up counter on the side where you can order pastries and coffee. We love that place!

We are going to be going to Palm Springs with my parents for Memorial weekend since Carlos has Monday off. Of course, Addison is excited for...swimming, bubbles, and the wooden shapes train! Lol! Hopefully I can get a pre-tan so I won't fry when we go with Suzanne to Glen Ivy Hot Springs the following weekend!
