Hard work goes a long way!

Addison going into the house from the garage when we first got there!
To say we were busy this weekend is putting it mildly! We picked up our keys at 10 a.m. on Saturday, and were in Temecula until about 8 p.m. working on the house. Thankfully, my mom came out and helped us and then took Addison. The house looked great in the photo from the listing (what I refer to as the 'stock' photo), but I have no idea when that was taken, since the planter looked like a jungle with overgrown plants, weeds, and tons and tons of bugs!!!

Luckily, my mom is good with gardening, so she dug out and moved around a lot of the plants and cleaned up the yard on Saturday AND Sunday! I bought more plants which she planted on Sunday, and of course, my addition was $33 worth of river rocks on the side of the garage. It is a little sliver of an area, but taking out the weeds and adding the rocks made it look so much cleaner. It's amazing how cleaning up a yard can completely change the look of a house!
(Most of the flowers are toward the front. I am most excited about my purple tree, and can't wait for it to grow!)
On Saturday, I painted all of the closets in the house. I was barely walking by the end of the day. One is a traditional closet and two are walk-ins. The fourth is the downstairs closet which is behind the stairs, meaning it has crazy angles and you have to be a contortionist to paint it!

Carlos was busy cleaning out the garage, scrubbing the garage since it smelled, pulling weeds from the driveway, and trying to help my mom. We went to Home Depot to get our new locks re-keyed so we wouldn't have a million keys. Who knew we would be at HD and Lowe's a total of 4x in two days. Lol!

On Sunday we got up super-early (partially because I was anxious), packed up some things in the truck, and drove up to the house. We stopped at HD on the way, hoping to get a tree and a new light fixture for the downstairs bathroom. Of course they didn't have a light fixture that I liked, so we drove all the way to Lowe's to get the one I liked, complete with the cute glass bubble shades that I wanted!

My parents brought Addison down, and my brother and his friend came down to help sand all of the awful patches that the previous owners had done, as well as to help hang my lights. My brother put up all 3 of our new outdoor lights, and my dad changed all of the knobs/locks, as well as working on patching up holes. I got the fun task of cleaning the kitchen cabinets. Unfortunately for me, there are a TON of cabinets!
The outside of the house looks really good! It's seriously a huge difference. I didn't get a good picture of the house since the sun was going down when we left, but I will be getting one soon! We will be back up there on Wednesday to water the plants and go to Pacific Sales to get ALL new appliances for the kitchen.

(I didn't take a before picture of the house, but our new doorknob and lights make a HUGE difference!)
