A Day in San Diego

On Saturday we decided to spend the day in San Diego. I felt so icky (not sure if it was allergies or a cold), but decided we needed to go anyway. It was the start of fleet week, so the big ships were in the port, and we couldn't pass it up. We went to the port, and since we were there a little later than planned, didn't actually go on board any of the ships since the line was crazy-long. We went in them last year, and of course, Carlos has lived on a few of them (lol), so it wasn't the end of the world. Plus, we got our tickets for the Midway. Woot woot!

After that, we headed down to the border to the Las Americas Outlets. I LOVE those outlets. There are not too many, and most of them are pretty good. We especially love the Disney Store, where we buy a lot of fun random things...and Christmas presents of course! After that, we went into the Coach outlet where they had 30% off. I always manage to go when they are having the sale, but am pretty good about purposely throwing away the postcards I get from them. You can really find good deals, and if you get a more classic style, they will last for a while. My last purse was a super-cute $30 purse that I found at Stein Mart, and it's already worn out. It lasted 2 months. So, I can justify paying a little more for something that lasts.

After that, Addison stopped at every fountain to throw money in. She is obsessed with throwing money in the fountains. It's so cute, until we run out of change!
We then headed back up to Old Town to go to our favorite restaurant, Casa Guadalajara. If there is one thing that Addison isn't, she isn't an obnoxious showoff. I seriously can't stand kids like that. Sadly, it's usually because their parents are that way. We all know at least one person like that, the one in EVERY picture, the one always having to have their kids "perform" in front of everyone, when no one really cares...it's just annoying, and I don't know one person who thinks it's cute. That being said, Addison does not like when people make a big deal out of her, yet, I had to have the mariachis sing to her. They sang La Bamba, and it was awesome. She sat with her hand in front of her face the ENTIRE time! That is the one thing (of many) that I love, love, love about her. She doesn't need recognition from other people. She doesn't have to have all eyes on her. Yet, everywhere she goes, she gets stopped by random people to tell her how cute she is, how well-behaved she is, how they love her voice, etc. And what does she do, quietly says, "Thank you!"
