Easter 2012

We went to Palm Springs for Easter. It's a tradition. Addison thinks that the bunny goes to Palm Springs, gets her plastic eggs and Easter basket from me, and hides them in the grass. Lol! Carlos had a few vacation days to use by the end of the month, so he took off on Monday and we were there for three days.
If there's one thing I can say about Addison...she LOVES the water. Since I was totally paranoid about pool safety when looking for a home, we turned down a lot of great homes with pools, looking instead for a large grassy backyard. I know she would have loved a pool though, and would have probably been swimming like a fish. Note to self: finally get her in swim lessons! She swam when we got there on Saturday, and was so tired by the time we went to dinner, that she fell asleep as soon as she was done eating. Anyone that knows Palm Springs, knows that the White Party is held on Easter weekend, so it was Gayfest 2012. We didn't go into town to eat because it was THAT packed, so we ate at this place called Manhattan in the Desert. I had eaten there for breakfast and didn't care for it too much, but the veggie sandwich I had for dinner was TO DIE FOR! Next time, I want to try the veggie pizza that my mom got. And yes, I walked out of there with a Pineapple Upside-Down Cake, a Bear Claw, and a piece of Coconut Cake from the bakery. I shared the coconut cake with my grandpa, and everyone else ate the rest.
On Sunday we got up and went to church at 11. There was no way that 6 adults and Addison were going to get ready by 9:30 with only two bathrooms...no way. So, Addison had to wait until after church for her Easter eggs and basket. I had gotten her so many toys and things to play with outdoors, that she would have been out there at 7 a.m. wanting to play them in pajamas. It was a hot day! While standing in church, crowded into what felt like the smallest pew ever, I finally decided to sit down. I just did not care. And it's not worth it to feel hot, dizzy, and sick. After church, we ate lunch/dinner. I ate so much ham on Christmas, that the thought of it kind of grosses me out. Sad because I don't like turkey, and I loved ham. Oh well, maybe that will pass. After eating we went out and went swimming. Again, Addison could have stayed in all day.
On Monday we stayed for a little bit and came home around 2:00. Carlos had work and school on Tuesday, so I thought it would be better if we could just get home and chill for a little while. The best part about going to Palm Springs from Temeculas as opposed to San Diego? The drive is at least 45 minutes shorter!
