I was so excited when my mom and I were at HomeGoods, and I found crystal drawer pulls for $7.99/set of 4. When Addison was born, we spared no expense for anything. I was working, which meant we had a ton of extra money, and we were renting, which ultimately saves a ton of money compared to owning a home. So, when I ordered her dresser and then the changing table, I knew that I wanted crystal drawer pulls. Of course, the wood is fine if that's your thing, but wood knobs are definitely not my thing, especially with white furniture. I can only imagine how nicked they would get from rings and such. So, when it was time to get the knobs for her furniture, I spent $5 on each knob, 12 knobs total. Yes, $60 on knobs. But, they looked so perfect!
So, along comes baby #2, and once we found out it was a girl, I knew that I wanted the white furniture in her room as well. I love it for girls! We moved the changing table into the room, and since they no longer had the same dresser, ordered one that was the same color, different style. It's nowhere near the changing table, and since they all match, including the crib, you don't even notice. I was going to buy the same knobs, but really didn't want to spend $45 on knobs. So, remembering the knobs at HomeGoods, went back and they were still there. Of course they are in sets of 4, and I needed 9, but spending $25 on knobs is quite the steal, and the style of them really dresses up the dresser, which is much more simple than Addison's dresser with the ball feet and raised panel drawers. I love the way it turned out, and the fact that they were so cheap, made them even better!
The cheap (but super cute) knobs on the new dresser!
The traditional ($5) knobs on Addison's dresser and the changing table. I know which ones I like better!
The new dresser with the new knobs. It is really not as plain as it looks, but you can't see the bottom. And yes, I put every piece of it together myself. I had no patience to wait to put it together while Carlos was at work!
Today also marks week 32, which means that I am officially 8 months pregnant. I feel so big, but the funny thing is, my stomach measures the exact same as it did almost two months ago. Yes, it got big fast. Now I guess it is more proportionate. I go to the doctor on Monday, so of course I will do a baby update then. I also started to freak out because I know so many girls that have had babies at 36 weeks, and I realized there were some things that we needed. So, Addison and I took a trip to Buy Buy Baby after playgroup this morning. 30 hangers, a car seat pad (nothing worse than ruining leather seats with carseat indentations), and a drying thing for the bottles. Yep, that was all we needed, and it still worried me enough to go out and get them at 32 weeks. Lol! What can I say??? I prepare!
