Thanksgiving has come and gone! I knew that would be a fast one. With Addison's birthday the week before, and already thinking about when to start decorating for Christmas, it always goes by fast. We were going to Palm Springs for Thanksgiving, but were not staying the whole weekend because we had things to do at home. Addison and I had decorated the inside of our house on Tuesday, and then she got the stomach flu Tuesday night. She has never had it before, so needless to say, her DVD player joined her in the bathroom, along with a lot of tears. She woke up and seemed okay on Wednesday, and then once we got to Palm Springs, she wasn't feeling too well.
My cousin Ricky and his kids Aryanna and Cody came down. Addison loves Aryanna! With the exception of Addison, we all ate a ton of food. Thank goodness my grandma got Ham. I don't know what it is, but I do not love Turkey. We went in the pool and Miranda had her first experience with the pool. She came out SOAKED, because she was splasing up a storm. Thank you to Target for finally putting swimsuits on clearance. She has some for next Summer, but I needed one for now. The fact that it was $3 made me feel much better about the fact that she'd wear it once. Did I mention, I also bought swim diapers which will last her until next Summer. When Addison was potty trained, she had been out of size 3's and into 4's for about a month. Miranda is already wearing size 3's!!!! Mostly out of convenience since it's faster to change a baby with a bigger diaper.
On Friday, Addison barely got out of bed. She wanted to sleep all day. She then vomited all over everyone, including Miranda. Poor thing. There is something funny about it though! I know, I'm mean. By Friday night, we had gone to TJ Maxx, and when we got home, she was complaining that her throat hurt and still not feeling well. She wouldn't drink the Pedialyte or ear the Pedialyte popsicles that we had gotten her. We took her in to the urgent care down the street from the condo. Can I just say, if you are ever in PS, go to the Eisenhower Urgent Care. It is SO nice, new, and state-of-the-art!!! The doctors and nurses were so nice! I think the air conditioner definitely helped her feel a little better, because she didn't have a fever. They checked her for EVERYTHING, gave her Motrin, and said that if she got worse we should take her to the ER. I think the 6 stickers that the nurse gave her helped! By the time we got back to the condo, she was feeling so much better, and was 100% the next morning!
We left the next morning and when we got home, I felt like I had the flu (minus the typical flu symptoms). My body was aching and I actually fell asleep for two hours!!! Thankfully, Airborne cured me. Lol! On Sunday we put up the Christmas lights. Miranda loved it since she can never get enough of being outside!
Did I mention that she is trying to boycott naps?! We started her on solids two days ago. We skipped the rice since I have heard that it has high levels of arsenic, and went straight to the homemade bananas. I LOVE the Baby Bullet. Why did I spend so much on Earth's Best organic baby food with Addison. One banana made about 4 days worth of food! So far, she is LOVING the bananas. She sticks her tongue out the second she sees the spoon. It's so cute! Addison even got to feed her the first bite! She was one proud sister!
