On Saturday we went to the Embarcadero for the Big Bay Whale Festival. We did not know much about it, but any festival has to be fun, right? Nope! There were about 10 booths set up with businesses promoting their services, and a giant inflatable whale that you could walk through. Needless to say, it was still fun, since we got to see the USS Midway (we have yet to go inside), and the Star of India. We walked around Seaport Village, and then decided to go to the 32nd Street Base so I could see if they had any cute shoes for Addison. I had never been to this base before, and let me tell you, it was interesting. First of all, it is in the total ghetto. It borders National City and Barrio Logan, two places you would not want to be late at night. The Exchange and Commisary are in their own little area, seperate from the base. This is weird to me because NAS North Island and MCAS Miramar are self-contained. I will say that the exchange had some really good stuff, so of course we bought Addison an outfit. After that we decided to go to Daphne's. Carlos has only had Greek food when he was actually in Greece, but he loved it, so I had told him we should go to Daphne's. No it is not authentic, but boy it was sooooo good!!! After a very long day out, we came home, and went to bed early for once!
