A baby's 1st haircut is one of those HUGE milestones. Usually they get it around a year old, when they start to have a mullet, or when their hair gets stringy. I must admit, Addison has the best hair. It is perfectly curly, not coarse, and NEVER tangles, despite the curls. I wanted to wait as long as I could to get it cut. Even though it was halfway down her back when wet, it would always shrink up to her shoulders! I knew that she needed layers so it would not be so puffy on the sides, and hopefully curl more on the top. So, after reading many reviews online, I found Kids Cuts Salon in Escondido. You would think San Diego would have an awesome salon with little airplanes to sit on when they get their haircut, movies playing, etc., but nope, just the usual kids salons, and most didn't have good reviews. I have to say, driving 20 minutes from where we live was worth it. Granted, it wasn't the most updated salon, and the kids still sat in regular chairs, but Shannon did a great job and did exactly what I wanted. Addison was completely serious the ENTIRE time. She didn't cry, laugh, smile...nothing! Just a straight face. She played with a Thomas telephone, while I watched Shannon's EVERY move! There were actually a lot of adults and teens in their too! Even though it's a kids salon, they cut hair for all ages. And better yet, one of the girls that I sell bows to has been taking her daughter there since she was 6 months old and she loves it! Definitely a plus when you know someone who goes there as well!

During the cut...not the most flattering picture...
After...
The certificate they get with their first haircut! They also gave me a bag of her hair, although it really wasn't length that was cut off, so I have a bag of fuzzies!
