It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas!

Since Addison was born, I knew that I wanted her to experience a lot of different Christmas activities. Her first Christmas, she was only weeks old, so there was no way I was taking her out to any of the festivities, or to see Santa. Last year, since she was a year old, we decided to try to do at least one Christmas activity each weekend. We are doing the same this year. Luckily in San Diego, there is more than enough to do!

We started the month out with a Balboa Park tradition, December Nights. I love Balboa Park! The zoo is there, not to mention a ton of museums, the organ pavillion, and much more. It is such a great cultural place, and December Nights is a huge event where there are tons of booths, arts and crafts, Santa Claus, a carnival, and most of the museums are open free to the public. It literally took us 2 hours to find parking...last year we obviously got lucky! Going to December Nights is like going to Disneyland on a crowded day, but you have to go, because it is the kickoff to Christmas festivities in San Diego.

The first thing we did was to ride the train outside of the zoo. Addison has been on it before, but it's a lot of fun to go when everything is lit up. We walked around, saw Santa at the Spanish Village, ate some Tamales, and went on the Carousel. Since we had just eaten, I let Carlos take her on, and I honestly had more fun watching how excited she was riding it! We didn't even get home until about 10:45, but it was well worth it!

Of course we had to sit with the monkey! She kept looking at Carlos when I was taking her picture!

Santa at Spanish Village. This picture looks like last years, only her legs were sliding off the other side! The funny thing is that she was pointing at Santa's helper and screaming.

Still mad, even though she had her candy cane!

A little better...

Waiting for Tamales, watching the carnival rides.

The Balboa Park Carousel. She LOVES Carousels!
