Bye-bye stinky carpet...

We had ordered our new flooring and carpet and according to the salesman, they were going to be put in on Monday and Tuesday. Of course, we all know how salesmen are, so I should've known it wouldn't be done in two days, especially because of how much had to be done downstairs. There was a lot of tile in the entryway and the kitchen/eating area, which took forever to rip out and prep for the new floor. The first day was a scorcher. Addison and I were basically stuck in the office with her DVD player, a bunch of games, and books, to try to occupy our time while they put in the carpet upstairs and started ripping out the carpet and tile downstairs.

On Tuesday, we ventured out, but when I figured out that we wouldn't be going home Tuesday night, I was more than upset. It's pretty miserable to be stuck eating out 24/7 for days on end because you have no kitchen appliances yet. Not to mention, we have no beds up there, so we were on the floor. When they left on Tuesday, I was so frustrated with the salesman, so we went shopping. Lol! We got Addison her new bed, as well as a comfy chair for the office. We still have to pick them up on Saturday, since they couldn't be delivered when they were still doing the flooring. Carlos came and surprised us so we wouldn't be stuck another night alone.

On Wednesday, they finished up the downstairs flooring as well as the stairs. Had I known it would be such an incredible mess, I probably would've covered the cabinets. I do not look forward to cleaning up the dusty mess when we go back on Saturday. We went shopping, and since Addison was so good, drove through the wineries so she could see the horses and cows. She loves farm animals, and it works out well because they are just around the corner!

We ended up staying last night as well so that we wouldn't have to drive home exhausted. Of course, I knew I would love the end result, but the 3 days of installation were a big pain!
