What did I do to have Addison still asleep at 8:00??? Is today my lucky day?
Yesterday was the Valentines Day party at playgroup. We made heart crayons which I had seen before, and found the tutorial on Pinterest. To say that I am happy that they are finished is an understatement! Peeling 180 crayons to make 30 heart crayons for a bunch of little kids was a big pain in the booty. But, they were the best thing in the card exchange and the parents LOVED them. It was hard for me to be overly-excited when they would ask me about them, knowing how much time went into making them. They have silicone molds at Walmart for $3.00 and they are much smaller. If I ever made these again I would not use such a big mold. I used the Wilton Whoopie Pie mold from Michaels that was around $14. They were sold out of their silicone molds and it was the best option at the time. I wanted to get more creative and use cute scrapbook paper behind the white, but was too exhausted.
I was so happy that Addison's Hello Kitty dress from last year still fit her. She only wore it once, so it was perfect to wear to the party. My mom had made it a little long last year, but because of the style of the dress it can really be worn at any length, even a tunic. I tried to take a picture of her before we left, and she decided to go through her "faces". She thinks it's so funny to do a mad, sad, happy, or surprised face at any given time! I didn't actually take any pictures at the party. With 30 kids plus parents, there was way too much chaos going on to pull out the camera and take pictures.
The one negative to Carlos being in school, is that Valentines Day falls on a school night. It looks like Addison and I will be celebrating with each other, and we will celebrate with Carlos the night before. I can't even remember what we did last year, but I do remember getting my awesome desk which is equal to several years Valentines presents. I'm so happy that I'm still as in love with it as I was when I got it!
