On Saturday, we drove up to an indoor party place in Orange called Hullabaloo's (I'm sure I spelled it wrong) for Christopher's birthday. We have known the Munoz family since I was in 3rd grade, and were so happy to drive up there. Granted, it was complete downpour, but the drive really isn't that bad. Plus, my mom was going, so Addison was going home with her and coming home Sunday when they came down. Addison had so much fun. She is totally not a wild animal like some kids, so I knew she wouldn't be into the huge treehouse, slide, and cool inflatable obstacle course and slide. I was right. I swear she spent the first half of the time there entertaining the babies in the baby/toddler section with her xylophone playing. Carlos took her into the treehouse and sent her down the slide. She loves slides, but does not like enclosed slides. She looked terrified. Then they trekked through the obstacle course which he said was quite difficult, considering her had to carry her a lot of the time. After he carried her to the top of the slide, they slid down. I think she liked that part, but there was no way he was taking her through that again. Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of that. It was pretty funny. The location for the party was great, especially since it seemed to work for kids of all ages. After the time in the play room, we went into a separate room for dinner, cake, and presents.
The birthday boy!
Blue cake teeth!
When we left, I had planned on going to the outlets. The Lake Elsinore outlets really and truly are the crappiest outlets around, but they ALWAYS have the best deals at Carter's. I had taken my coupon, and ended up getting 3 sunsuits, a cute terrycloth shorts/jacket set, a tank/tunic for Addison, and a long-sleeved shirt for her as well. I spent $38 on all of it, and all but the long-sleeved shirt for Addison are current season. One of the sunsuits that I got is currently $8 on Carters.com, and even with the coupon would still be about $6.50. We got it for $3.99!!! All of the sunsuits that are currently $10 on sale at Carters.com, were only $6 with the coupon. I was so excited. I swear I should only shop at that outlet.
Of course, we left the outlets at about 7:30, so Carlos was starved. We went to Crapplebee's for dinner and then Dairy Queen for dessert. I was dying for the Banana Split blizzard!
At about 1:30, we were dead asleep when we heard this CRAZY noise. Now, we get wind down here every now and then, and I have heard what the rain sounds like as it pounds into the windows, but this was much more. I really do hate the elements, especially wind, thunder, and lightning, so I woke up right away to look outside. What was it? Hail! It was loud. We have a tile roof and never hear anything, but you could actually hear the hail on the roof. It was pretty freaky to say the least. So, like a dumb dumb, I opened the front door to get a picture. It was crazy, and everything was covered in white within about 20 minutes. Carlos' car had about an inch or more of hail piled all over it. The street was completely white, and of course, all of the neighbors were out looking at it as well! I wish I had waited to take this picture since this was nothing compared to what it was just minutes later.
The aftermath of going out in FREEZING windy weather with no shoes or socks on, I woke up yesterday morning with a lame sore throat. It's still here. Ugh! Needless to say, my black Uggs made their way out of my closet and are at the front door.
