Preschool Visit...and a NAME!

Today we had our weekly playgroup, which I was not looking forward to. The only excuse for not going to playgroup (for me anyway), is illness, or pure exhaustion. But, since we had missed two weeks ago because of my cold, I was not about to miss today because of my exhaustion. I just could not fall asleep last night. I slept for about 4 hours, if that. I remember the days of waking up throughout the night when Addison was born, but for some reason, I functioned better then, then I do now.

So, after playgroup, we were going to Addison's preschool to turn in all of her registration papers. I knew we might be there for awhile, which we were. Luckily, the kids eat lunch at around 12, which was our exit. Addison walked right in, started playing with the kids, did clean-up, circle/story time, a science experiment, and hand washing. She loved it. I loved the fact that I could sit back and watch her and the other kids having so much fun. Of course, she did not want to leave. We were there for an hour, and her teacher asked us to come back and bring a lunch next time so she can stay longer. The only thing that I am sad about, is that I will have a newborn when she starts preschool, so I won't be able to help in the class like I would like to...unless this baby is as well-behaved as Addison. We'll see. Can I be lucky twice? Some of the kids go home at 12, and the parents were just dying over how cute Addison was. She is a whole head smaller than most of the kids. And like I've said before, as a teacher, and most of the time as a parent, you tend to fall in love with the mini kids, because they are still so cute and baby-ish. I know I was DEFINITELY that way with my little 3T-wearing Jordan when I did my student teaching. She was so tiny!

We went to the store and got a present for a birthday party on Saturday. One thing is for sure, Spring is birthday party season! And of course, all of the parties that we have coming up are for boys! I'm good with presents for toddler boys, but for some reason, buying a present for a 4 year old was quite challenging. We ended up going Cars-themed from the card to the present, and bought a Cars race track thing. Hopefully he'll like it.

I think we have finally decided on a baby name! What? Yes, it's true. I have literally gotten everything that we need for this baby, except a second Pack n' Play, but was so unsure of a name. Basically, we had it narrowed down to three names. All started with M, and all were seven letters long. It was pure coincidence. They were all somewhat different, and not too trendy, which is what I loved about them. I started looking deeper into the names...by looking deeper, I mean looking into the meaning (which is not such a big deal to me unless it is something awful), looking at songs with the name, television characters, books, etc. For real, do you want to name your child after a prostitute in a movie? I think not. One name I was unsure of because it would probably be really annoying to one of my friends. Most girls tend to hate names when they belong to girls that they hate, so I knew that name may be on the chopping block. When I found out the meaning, which was not something you would want to give to your child, it basically ruled it out. So, we have a name...I think. Lol! And, we are telling NO ONE!!! Not even Addison. Especially since my mom is always trying to figure out what it is! Once she is born, I will definitely tell everyone the other two choices, and why they were ruled out.
